Eddie Casey is a Senior Economist at the OECD.
He specialises in macroeconomics, fiscal policy, and climate change. He joined the OECD after spending more than a decade at the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council championing fiscal sustainability. There he worked as its Chief Economist and head of staff.
His current work involves leading the development of a tool to assess the fiscal risks of climate change and research on enhancing independent fiscal institutions and the public’s understanding of economics. He also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer / Assistant Professor at University College Dublin where he has taught on the European Economy.
Prior to this, he was an Economist at the National Treasury Management Agency and held research roles at the Economic and Social Research Institute and the Central Bank of Ireland. He holds a PhD in Macroeconomics from University College Dublin and an MSc and BA from University College Cork.
